A major political flashpoint has emerged in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia. 


Protests erupted after former Home Minister Narottam Mishra was denied a by-election ticket, with supporters blocking the Datia–Jhansi National Highway for nearly 12 hours. 


The agitation escalated into clashes with police, leaving several personnel injured and disrupting traffic across the region. 


The incident has intensified questions about factionalism within the BJP and the state’s ability to maintain law and order when internal political disputes spill onto the streets.

The unrest began after senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra was denied a by-election ticket. Supporters gathered in large numbers, demanding the party reconsider its decision. What started as political dissent quickly spilled onto public roads.
