रामपुर की सरज़मीं से यरुशलम की मुक़द्दस मिट्टी तक... एक ऐसा सफ़र जिसकी मिसाल तारीख़ में कम मिलती है। बात हो रही है मौलाना मुहम्मद अली जौहर की, जिनके नाम पर आज़म ख़ाँ ने रामपुर में जौहर यूनिवर्सिटी बनवाई। कौन थे मौलाना जौहर? 10 दिसंबर 1878 को रामपुर में पैदा हुए, बी अम्मा के बेटे, अलीगढ़ और ऑक्सफ़ोर्ड से तालीम लेने वाले, मुस्लिम लीग और कांग्रेस दोनों के सदर, 'Comrade' और 'हमदर्द' अख़बार के बानी, जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया के संस्थापकों में से एक, और ख़िलाफ़त तहरीक के हीरो। 1931 में लंदन में इंतिक़ाल के बाद उन्हें वसीयत के मुताबिक़ फ़िलिस्तीन के यरुशलम में मस्जिद-ए-अक़्सा के अहाते में सुपुर्द-ए-ख़ाक किया गया। मौलाना मुहम्मद अली जौहर की पूरी तारीख़ देखिए सिर्फ Salaam TV पर।

Born on 10 Dec 1878 in Rampur, son of Bi Amma, educated at Aligarh and Oxford, President of both Muslim League (1917) and Indian National Congress (1923), founder of Comrade & Hamdard newspapers, and co-founder of Jamia Millia Islamia. He died on 4 Jan 1931 in London during the Round Table Conference and was buried in Jerusalem near Masjid Al-Aqsa as per his last wish - "I don't want to be buried in a slave country".
