In 2011, the top court had said Mohammad Arif, a member of the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, would hang for the attack in 2000 on the famous Delhi landmark in which three people were killed. Mr Arif has appealed against his execution on the grounds that he has already spent 14 years in jail, and says his fundamental rights are being violated. The judges today have referred his case to a larger constitution bench.   On December 22, 2000, six Lashkar terrorists stormed the Red Fort and attacked an army camp, resulting in three deaths.
